Research At KUTRRH

Research at KUTRRH is coordinated under the Training Research and Innovation Directorate. The research is aimed at informing latest service delivery, inventions and innovations. This is also in recognition of the important role research plays in improving patient outcomes as well as overall quality of healthcare. It is also part of the Hospital’s mandate and enshrined in the mantra of ‘quality patient-centred care’.

As a premier research hospital, KUTRRH supports teaching, research as well as clinical trials. The data and information generated from these scientific enquiries are useful in making valuable decisions in the healthcare industry.

Research Administration

Research administration is responsible in developing and/or overseeing research proposals, awards, and transactions in contract and grant management maintain records in compliance with institutional and sponsor policies. manage grant, contract, and award administrative work.

Bioscience and Biotechnology Research Centre (BBRC)

The Bioscience and Biotechnology Research Centre (BBRC) is mandated to carry out basic research experiments to improve understanding and inform the treatment of the most widespread diseases affecting Kenyans. This research involves the following thematic sections: Genomic research, Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs), Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), Infectious Diseases, Drug & Vaccine Research and Development

Clinical Research Centre (CRC)

The Clinical Research Centre (CRC) is responsible for carrying out experimental therapeutics especially drug and vaccine trials. In addition, it is tasked to promote human subjects research as well as ensure ethical compliance in clinical research.
